Elke Louie is an emerging Australian singer-songwriter crafting intimate, slow-burning indie-folk with a voice that feels both unguarded and quietly powerful. At just 19, her songwriting has already traced a path from bedroom solitude to fully realised releases, capturing the emotional aftershocks of growing up, letting go, and leaning into vulnerability. Her debut EP Lavender, release in April 2026, marks a deeper bloom, recorded at Mantle Records with Clare Quinn and Lawrence Menard of Those Folk. Written across pivotal moments of transition, the collection moves through themes of isolation, tenderness, and first love, grounded by her signature ability to make the personal feel universal. The title track, born from a writers’ retreat and a self-imposed challenge to finally write a love song, signals a turning point in both tone and confidence.
